I Was Lost, Now Am Found

This morning was a shocker. I don’t usually feel lost and unmotivated. Ever.

Today was just one of those days.

It was the exact opposite of what I was expecting, given I saw Battle: Los Angeles last night with Dave Murphy and Cat. It was an awesome, inspiring movie. Worth checking out at the movies because I don’t think a small screen will do it justice.

I did some yoga breathing exercises last night after my 12am sleep. Still hurting in many new places from Tuesday morning’s yoga session (particularly through the torso). That was fine til I hit a wall around 3am.

I stupidly went to bed at 3:30am and even though tired, couldn’t get to sleep straight away. Then the next fatal mistake: because I hadn’t slept, I reset my timer and tried again.

That never ends well and I should’ve learned.

I ended up sleeping for an hour and woke up feeling like I’d just given blood after working a 30 hour shift. Not that I’ve ever experienced that, but I can guess what it feels like 🙂

You know how they say “when it rains, it pours”? Well when I got to my computer there was a pretty potent malware scanning virus on it. Took about 2 hours to get rid of it.

Even worse – the virus hit right when I was in the middle of a webinar that I was enjoying – it was just getting to the good bit.

At the same time, there were a few other things that went down that left me exasperated.

After everything was sorted out, it was 2pm and I was nowhere. Completely lost. You know when you look at your to do list and it just completely overwhelms you? When you can’t just pick something and get the ball rolling?

Realizing this was happening, I took a step back and reassessed. I did some strategic planning around my to do list, figuring out what needed to be done and why. The why was the key to unlocking the chains of today. In the last hour, things are moving a lot better and I’m back 🙂

  1. Ouch – what a day! Well done for picking yourself up and addressing the situation instead of just feeling miserable and sorry for yourself – impressive!

  2. Many of us have been there too, you just need to get over yourself fast and start doing stuff asap =)
